OfficialAutomatic updates for existing Hooks installations
Windows installations of an older Hooks release can now update when the new release adds required resource packages.
Fixes
- This fixes the automatic migration from Hooks 0.6.0-beta.4 to the complete beta.5 download. The Launcher installs the required images with the runtime and then updates managed Spira data-only installations to the complete 0.2.0 package.
What's included
- The complete downloads and automatic-update settings introduced in 1.0.14 remain available on Windows and Linux. Enable Update installed products automatically in Settings; checks run at startup and every five minutes while the Launcher is open, and wait while the game, Studio or another Launcher operation is active.
- Only products already managed by the Launcher update automatically. New installations and conflicts still require your choice.
- For Spira 0.2.0, enable Receive FFX Hooks beta releases and install Hooks beta.5 and File Loader from the mod catalog. Existing beta installations keep their channel.
- Hooks includes all 92 Arcana images, and complete Spira includes the game data and supplemental effects.
- Studio continues to use official version 2.247.0.0; these products retain their own versions and development stages.
Known issues
- Some older Launcher installations need the first upgrade to be started manually. Use the Windows MSI, or follow the included English/Portuguese setup guide for Linux portable registration before enabling automatic Launcher updates.
- Windows downloads are not Authenticode-signed and may show a Windows warning; feed signatures and package integrity checks remain in place.
- Windows/Linux downloads, checksums and the full Launcher source archive are included. No paid subscription or certificate is required.
