Spira Reforged · v0.2.0-encounters
OfficialBosses, Omega Ruins, Tarot and progression
This content update brings new story-boss routines, denser Inside Sin and Omega Ruins encounters, a 90-card Tarot deck, improved rewards and Aero equipment. The data package, separately installed runtime supplement and public authoring source are now available.
Highlights
- Story bosses gain new combat routines, while Inside Sin and Omega Ruins receive denser formations and dedicated endgame mechanics.
- Tarot joins Spira Reforged with 90 cards, including rewards tied to defeating Omega Weapon and the Dark Aeons.
- Exploration rewards, monster drops and Aero equipment expand progression and equipment choices.
What’s new
- Seymour in Macalania uses Darkra counters and Requiem; Seymour Natus uses Darkga and new Dark follow-ups; Seymour Flux replaces Flare with Anti-Flare and gains a random party-wide Dark counter against magical damage.
- Wendigo follows physical attacks with Cheer, reinforcing its close-range pressure.
- Evrae attacks two different characters and follows Haste with one to four distinct Holy spells. Reflect changes that follow-up to a Holy Fury, and Swooping Scythe adds a six-hit Holy Fury.
- Yunalesca gains three distinct phases with negative-status follow-ups, Dark counters, multi-hit Dark Fury spells and defensive recovery skills.
- Sin arms add two random spells after offensive actions. Outside its shell, Sinspawn Genais combines its native attack with two higher-tier spells. The protected cores absorb Holy and Darkness.
- Barbatos, Behemoth King and Great Malboro gain native Overdrives. Behemoth King uses the Elite category and keeps its original death Meteor. Their Overdrives also work beyond the point of no return.
- Omega Ruins assigns one T7 profile per eligible monster from a varied catalog of generic and species-specific conditions. The regional seed changes between battles at intervals of 15–30 minutes.
- Ultima Weapon becomes a T8 encounter with elemental follow-ups, Ultima Break, strengthening actions and Meteor variants. After its defeat, a smaller Ultima can replace an eligible monster in regular Omega Ruins battles.
- The Tarot deck includes 78 traditional cards, Omega Weapon, Ultima Weapon and ten Dark Aeon cards, including one for each Magus Sister. Both Weapon cards require defeating Omega Weapon; the full-deck option does not bypass boss-card rewards.
- Aero Strike, Aero Touch, Aero Ward, Aeroproof, Aero Eater and SOS NulAero add equipment and Customize options. Valefor starts with Aero alongside its four basic spells, Aero Strike on its weapon and Aero Eater on its armor.
- Normal Bahamut's Mega Flare deals Holy damage, while normal Anima's Oblivion deals Darkness damage. Their existing power, hit counts and costs are preserved.
Improvements
- Inside Sin uses five-monster formations in the first edited area, except Adamantoise groups with three. The later edited area gains new Gemini pairs and mixed groups; point-of-no-return formations remain unchanged.
- Regular Omega Ruins formations use five simultaneous enemies, including chest/Mimic encounters. Varuna appears more often; Defender Z remains the exception among monsters from other regions.
- Winged regular enemies receive Aero weaknesses, and late-game enemies gain complementary Holy/Dark affinities. The elemental additions preserve the other elemental characteristics of the edited enemies.
- Omega Ruins cameras use varied original party angles and wider framing. Additional distance, height and lens adjustments address the reported floor and wall framing in two encounters.
- Selected chest rewards provide more useful progression resources. The three affected weapon rewards for Lulu, Yuna and Tidus have three ability slots.
- Boss-card rewards follow their original victory conditions, including Dark Ixion's second battle and Dark Yojimbo's fifth duel. Existing Tarot collections and equipment migrate to the expanded deck.
- New Tarot cards have dedicated artwork, with a revised Dark Valefor illustration. Weapon cards include Holy/Dark effects, and Ultima Weapon restores 3% MP per turn.
Fixes
- Yunalesca's Fury sequences keep their three-to-six-hit range, and the defensive follow-up occurs after the fourth completed Fury sequence.
- Dark Wind now uses a healing calculation compatible with Yunalesca. Her temporary defensive buffs can be removed by Dispel.
- Omega buff and status skills use their appropriate support, CTB or physical protocols instead of inheriting an offensive HP payload.
- Omega T7 effects stop when the game reports the end of a battle, including group Flee. Individual Escape still leaves the remaining allies in battle.
- One MP Cost, Overdrive to AP and redundant separate Break MP Limit entries are removed from the audited equipment, reward and Customize acquisition routes. Equipment already stored in saves is preserved.
- Dark Aeons return to their original combat bases before the T10 redesign. Their native AI and the mod's rewards are preserved.
Balance
- Existing normal, rare and Overkill monster item-drop quantities are doubled. The item identities and drop probabilities are preserved by this adjustment; rewards of one item become two and two become four.
- The story-boss reference tiers are Seymour T4, Wendigo T3, Evrae T4, Seymour Natus T5, Seymour Flux T6 and Yunalesca T7. These authored boss changes are part of the mod's native combat data.
- Yunalesca's Dark Wind heals 10% of maximum HP, and Hyper Dark Guard heals 20%. These recovery actions remain separate from offensive skills.
- Sin arms use T6 and Sinspawn Genais T7. Their extra offensive and support actions retain distinct roles.
- Omega regular enemies receive their T7 attribute increase in battle. Repeated updates and seed changes do not stack that increase or refill HP, and monster-file base stats are preserved.
- Varuna and Master Tonberry are Omega's stronger regular encounters. Low base combat attributes and Puroboros agility are raised, while Mimics gain HP, agility and rewards.
- Per-monster Hook reward settings support AP and Gil beyond the old monster-data limit. Omega rewards use species-specific values rather than requiring repeated Overdrive-to-AP farming.
- Omega Weapon is T9 with 3,000,000 HP and reduced base attributes, without another tier multiplier. Sacred and Profane Custodians defend separate seals, and hidden Echoes join the mandatory 25% final phase.
- Omega Weapon announces Supernova and provides response windows when seals break. Zanmato is limited to 99,999 HP per action on the body, respecting the seals and mandatory final-phase threshold.
- Dark Aeon Tarot cards currently use a provisional HP +10% effect; their final individual effects remain to be balanced.
Known issues
- Runtime features require FFX Hooks 0.6.0-beta.5 and API 4. For Portuguese game text, use the Spira-specific PT-BR package; the vanilla PT-BR package is not interchangeable.
- Complete gameplay checks remain open for new boss routines, Overdrives, camera transitions, animations, Tarot presentation and updated chest rewards.
- The reported Armor Break execution and missing Reflect effect need confirmation in a played game with the corrected data and current runtime.
- The universal Capture and progressive elemental Touch/Imperil/Ward data package is prepared but not installed. New Touch recipes and the revised elemental Aurochs Reels behavior are not announced as available in this snapshot.
- The forced negative-status supplement for Omega enemies below 80 current MAG is approved but still awaits integration and gameplay checks.
- Dark Aeon T10 phases, attribute-reduction stacks, named Imperil extras and Dark Bahamut's Gigaflare/Zettaflare encounter are proposals, not installed battles. The Arena vanilla selector is also pending.
- The final learning-node distribution and some Fury/Bushido refinements still need to be completed and verified through normal progression.
- The data ZIP and full/delta FMX packages manage only data/mods. Install the separate supplement manually for modules/config, modules/mods/arcana, magicFiles and AP/Gil settings; the supplement does not include a DLL.
